Why is it okay for the NBA to be racist against whites? Add Opinion. Look at the ownership of the teams and the basketball coaches themselves. You can't make the argument that those in power for these teams are not largely comprised of a majority of white men, so how can they discriminate against their own? They absolutely hold the money and the power there, there is no doubt about that, and if so inclined they have all the means necessary to specifically go after those of their own race.
A black or any other race of basketball player, cannot draft themselves, so then how is or can this be racism if the players are being selected by an organization which is largely white?

Your question is very perceptive and raises an interesting issue. You would think that the same people always clamoring about "representation" and "diversity" would be going after the NBA. But they don't, and it's a double standard.
But the reality is this: All of this mandated "diversity" and "representation" nonsense is an unhealthy obsession with superficial features about people. The NBA is a meritocracy when it comes to talent, which is as it should be. The same should go for every profession or walk of life, or for college admissions. That's nothing to do with racism.
